Alaken, Inc. was founded by Dr. Anthony T. Tu in 1992. Dr. Tu was a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Colorado State University. He wrote the books Venoms: Chemistry and Molecular Biology and Raman Spectroscopy in Biology: Principles and Applications (both titles by John Wiley) and edited eight volumes of Handbook of Natural Toxins by Marcel Dekker, Inc. He served on the editorial board of Applied Spectroscopy and is currently an editor of Toxins Reviews and Journal of Natural Toxins. Dr. Tu received a B. S. in Chemistry from the National Taiwan University, a M. S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Stanford University. In 1987 he received the National Institutes of Health MERIT Award. Dr. Tu holds Professor emeritus status at Colorado State University. He continues to work on snake toxins, the field of natural toxins and applications of Raman spectroscopy to biological compounds. Alaken, Inc.
publishes numerous
materials specializing in the research of natural
